Alameda County District Attorney Announces Conviction in 2021 Robbery-Murder

Oakland, August 31, 2023 -  Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announced a guilty verdict in the murder of 75-year-old Pak Ho in Oakland’s Adams Point neighborhood. A jury convicted Teaunte Bailey, 28, on all charges, including first and second-degree felony murder and robbery. Bailey was alleged to have jumped out of a vehicle to rob Mr. Ho while Ho was on his morning walk on March 9, 2021. During the robbery, Ho fell and struck his head on the concrete. He later died from his injuries. Bailey was in possession of Mr. Ho’s belongings on the same day of the incident and was wearing a GPS ankle monitor which linked him to Mr. Ho’s murder and to a separate home invasion robbery. The two-day annual event commemorated India’s independence and brought thousands of people to Fremont, one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse cities in the Bay Area. August 17, 2023 - The Alameda County District Attorney's Office has filed charges against 27 year old Juan Lopez in relation to two separate shooting incidents that occurred on 10/28/22 an hour apart at two separate locations.  Mr. Lopez is facing charges of murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, and two counts of attempted murder. His sentencing exposure is 45 years to life plus an additional 5 years and 4 months. The first incident took place in the 1400 block of 103rd Avenue at 7:46pm.
